This week’s prompt:
A cheater, a holiday, slippers
“Ahhhhhhh.” It felt good to get away. The sun shone, the breeze blew, and this was the life. The resort was top-notch, with all the amenities, free booze, room service, a beautiful balcony and the spiffy slippers on his feet. The feet he currently had propped up on the white railing.
This was not the first time he had been here, but it was the first time as a guest, and it was even better than he had imagined. The bellhop had been oh so gracious, and the front desk girl as deferential as anyone could be. This was the life he was meant to live. He was not cut out for the paycheck to paycheck bull shit he had been doing for his entire adult life.
Why had he never done this before? The plan had been simple and worked like a charm. No more work for this guy. The old adage was wrong. Cheaters did win. He was living proof.
